Timezone

Supported timezones for TV series airing time calculations.

The timezone option sets the default timezone for TV series queries that support the timezone parameter — such as "airing today" and "on the air" endpoints. TMDB uses this value to determine what counts as "today" when filtering currently airing shows.

const tmdb = new TMDB(apiKey, { timezone: "Europe/Rome" });

Note: This setting only affects TV series endpoints. Movie endpoints are not influenced by timezone.

Format

Timezones are IANA timezone identifiers and are keyed per country using ISO 3166-1 codes internally. Each country maps to one or more valid timezone strings.

Countries with large geographic spans (US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Russia) map to multiple timezones. When setting a default, choose the timezone that best represents your primary user base.

The full Timezone type is generated from the TIMEZONEDATA constant, which maps every ISO 3166-1 country code to its associated IANA zone(s).
